I wake up and take a shower I have quite a lot I wanna get done before this dinner. Which by the way is totally stressing me.

i sneak out of the room after getting dressed, not wanting to wake Kaden, he’s not to much of a morning person.

I walk outside and the breeze passing by feels amazing.

I make my way down the block to my favorite coffee shop. Since I was fourteen I would wake up and walk to the coffee shop and read a book.

it always brought me peace in the chaotic life I was living.

“oh saige dear you’ve gotten so big! It’s been so long since you’ve stopped by!” Miss Lilly exclaims.

she’s the owner of the small coffee shop and always enjoyed my company. It’s kinda sad not being here every morning but at least there’s a nice local shop in Florida

i order my coffee and catch up with miss Lilly. She’s the sweetest lady.

after catching up with her I walk into town and take in all the old places I used to visit. It’s a bit nostalgic.

“saige?” I hear a voice call

oh shit. Not now. I was just distressing.

“sawyer, hey” I reply solemnly

“you’re gonna be at the dinner tonight at the millers house huh?” He asks

“well yeah, mom made it mandatory and so did Jess so we don’t really have a choice” i shrug

“okay well I’ll catch ya later I guess” he says walking away with some of his friends.

my brother and I were close at one point but not so much anymore. We’ve both gone our own ways and it kinda sucks.

sawyer was the closest with dad so it screwed him up pretty bad. From what I gather dad actually still keeps in touch with him from time to time.

I continue on with my day look through book stores and picking up any books I may have the slightest interest in.

my phone buzzes a few times and I dig it out my purse.

“saige where are you?” A message from Kaden reads

“I left out early for coffee and decided to do some book shopping probably gonna pick up some breakfast would you want any?” I reply

Kaden loves to eat, so of course he’s gonna what me to bring him something back.

I stop back in at the coffee shop on my walk back and order to bagels mine with cream cheese and strawberry’s and Kadens with everything bagel.

i finally make my way back in the room. Kadens laying in the bed still when I jump on the bed and hand him his bagel.

“so are you ready for tonight” I ask him wondering if maybe he’s nervous as well

of course he’s not, “yeah I mean what’s the worst that can happen” he responds as he eats his bagel.

I decide to catch up on some assignments form this passed week so I pull my lap top out.

kaden walks up behind me kissing me on the forehead before he goes to shower.

-later that night-

I throw on a flow dress and Kaden slips on some jeans and a T-shirt I swear the only colors in his wardrobe are black.

“ready to go” he asks

”yeah” I shrug sounds a bit unsure

the Uber finally arrives and we are now on our way to his parents house. I’m very nervous and shaky. Kaden obviously picked up on that as he reached for my hand.

we finally arrive to his parents house and make our way in. Thankfully sawyer and mom haven’t made it yet since we got here a bit early.

Jess and Paul greet me with a hug, followed by the twins who jump into my arms. Kaden is talking with Karson before I notice the smirk he’s giving me

“what are you two up to” I question getting no response just a laugh from Karson

about thirty minutes later my mom and sawyer show up.

the smell of dinner is in the air, I set the table as Jess and my mom make small talk catching up on my new relationship status.

everyone is seated at the dinner table and the questions start

“how’s college going so far Saige” Paul asks

“it’s going great so far hopefully it stays that way” I smile at him

Paul, Kaden, Sawyer and Karson talk about football season starting and what all the plays are.

my mom, Jess and i are talking about the move to Florida and Kams tryouts

and then it happens

”okay everyone Kaden and saige have some news the wanna share with the family” Jess says grabbing everyone’s attention

looks of confusion is shown by my brother, Paul and the twins as everyone else already knows.

“um.. w-well we are um..” I stutter as my brother is staring me down

“we’re together” Kaden finishes my sentence for me

“what the fuck bro” sawyer shouts looking at Kaden and then turns his attention to me “saige is this some sick joke”

I can feel the tears instantly forming, I’m gonna burst into a panic at any minute my hearts racing rapidly and I don’t know what to say

“dude it’s not that big of a deal don’t talk to her like that” Kaden shouts back at my brother

this won’t end well at all.

“Kaden, Sawyer, I will not tolerate yelling in my house” Jess scolds them

“Out of all girls dude you decide to fuck my sister” sawyer mutters

Both of our moms are yelling, as Kaden and sawyer are literally fighting in the dining room. Paul and Karson are trying to break them apart, the twins are screaming in terror so I pick the both of them up bringing them upstairs to Kambries room.

this night possibly couldn’t have gotten any worst.

after i finally manage to get the twins settle the door opens and it’s Jess.

“Saige honey can you come talk to me out here for a few minutes” she asks quietly and I nod my head in agreement.

i can’t help but start crying when she wraps me into a hug. she’s always comforted me when I cried.

“it’s gonna be okay honey he’ll get over it, you know there was already tension between the two it’s not your fault” she whispers

I can’t say anything. I feel like this dinner was a horrible idea.

I walk back downstairs Kadens fist is covered in blood, and has a bruise on his left eye.

both of them are pretty strong so it’s not like one had more leverage.

I look to my left and see my brother looking at me with a betrayed look. “Sawyer” I cry out and he just walks out the house.

kaden pulls me into a hug and tells me he’s sorry.

it’s not his fault, I mean I wish he didn’t start the fight but somehow I knew this would happen.

tonight is our last night here so we wrap up dinner leaving his parents house after saying our goodbyes to everyone.

as we make it back to the hotel room I help kaden clean up his hands and give him some ice for his eye.

I start packing our bags as we have to wake up early for our flight back to florida.

I hate how everything happened. I wish we never had that dinner.

“Saige I’m really sorry” kaden tries to apologize but I kiss him before he can go on.

I don’t wanna hear his apologies I just want this night to be over.
