ell into Sunday morning They had stayed awake through
Saturday night and devoting more time to dip into each other’s craft.
In result, the clay Gargoyle bust had actual facial features and Emma’s vocals featured on a few of his songs.
The aura of achievement set brand new things in motion, like wedding planning, and updating a scrap book of photos. Their creativity took them all the way to the hour before sunrise.
Undressing one another by candlelight, Adonis had mounted and fucked her gently. The serenade of her breath and moans pleased his ears. His lips jabbing and biting her pale neck, to the influence of her verbal delight. To keep fucking and stimulating her lithe body. Eventually, they both came and settled into each other feeling the fatigue of yesterday.
Adonis Kissed the new ring on her hand and she curled into his chest drifting off to sleep. The candles began to die out, quivering and bowing, becoming weak dots of light.
By Noon they rose and tended to the room and the rest of the house, having set their goals low to recharge for the week ahead.
Adonis had called the pharmacy, completely having forgotten to do so yesterday. His refill wouldn’t be in until Thursday.
“I think I’ll be fine “
Adonis said, hanging up the phone and helping her fold laundry.
” The longest you’ve gone is what, 5 days?”
Adonis thought about it while handing her his two corners of the spare bedsheet.
” Withdrawals usually happen after that, but I’ll be fine”
Sliding the laundry basket under the bed and adding her finishing touches to the room before they lay in each other’s arms again. A refreshing coolness unraveled throughout the house from open windows. It felt right to fall asleep here with her under his arm. The silence had overpowered them both.
“The time for rest is over…”
His eyes rolled back and forth behind his eyelids to the voice.
A raspy baritone voice, petrifyingly Evil.
“The days are overcast… smoke … of Sevoria’s rise…”
Behind his eyes, a shadowy specter crossed over a lake’s shimmering face. A formless dark cloud, hurling itself forward.
“Of my… rise…”
It reached the shoreline and caused a great flame to awaken from root to branch, everything it passed, burned.
Adonis jolted awake in time to see A shadow slip from his doorway, the door slowly opened from the shadow's force.
Adonis slipped his dagger from the back of his pillow and quickly got out of bed towards the door.
Pushing open the door until it hit the back wall he stood in the doorway.
Emma sat up in bed the late evening light cast a gloom light over the room she could make out the weapon in his hand. She didn’t say anything, she only watched him leave and shut the door behind him. checking the entire house for a presence that wasn’t there. Mom’s car wasn’t outside, the doors were locked and there was nothing out of place just this feeling he had. The time on the stove told him that they were asleep for a good four hours. cautiously Emma opened the room door, watching him walk back to her.
“What?”
“I thought somebody was in the house “
Adonis put the dagger back where it was and sat on the edge of the bed.
“What made you think that? “She asked looking at the door he was staring at then back at him.
“I thought I saw something”
“Is mom home from work already?”
“No”
Stepping into their door frame she glanced over to the kitchen then back at him there on the bed.
“Do you want some food?”
Yawning, Adonis shook his head and followed her into the kitchen.
Over their meals, they had both agreed they were a little burnt out from the previous week.
“We were up all day yesterday; I can’t do this being awake crap, “Emma said chewing the last bite of her food.
“I want to play a little bit of guitar at least”
“Well then I’ll just nap in moms' bed, come get me when you're done”
Adonis agreed and then they left the table to go their separate ways.
