At Oscorp, Peter walks into the stairway and opens the door that leads to the bomb shelter. Peter walks down the stairs and closes the door behind him, entering the bomb shelter. Peter walks in on MJ and Harry having a conversation.
"Hey guys," Peter introduces, "how's it going down here?"
"Well, our lives are on the line and we're in an actual bomb shelter turned lab from the Cold War, so it's great," Harry responds with sarcasm in his voice.
"Yeah, it's been quite the bonding experience," MJ says, piggybacking off of Harry's statement.
"I don't know what I was expecting," Peter states with a lighthearted tone, Harry and MJ chuckle slightly.
"Hey Peter, why aren't you down here?" Harry asks, "You're affiliated with my dad, too." MJ and Peter's expressions change into a nervous one.
"Well, I'm pretty much a nobody in the grand scheme of things," Peter responds, making things up as he goes, "I mean, you're Norman's son, and MJ is a model so she's on magazines. I'm a name on a newspaper." Peter refers to him being credited for his photos for The Daily Bugle.
"I mean, still, you are putting yourself at risk by being out there. You could still be a target." Harry retaliates.
"Harry, I wish I could, but I have rent to pay and I can't get money sitting in here. I'm sorry, Harry, but I have things to do," Peter finishes, "I'll see you later." He walks out of the bomb shelter, and Harry and MJ hear Peter close the door.
"I feel like it's something other than rent that's giving him that much stress," Harry thinks out loud.
"Maybe," MJ responds, with full knowledge of what's going on, "I'm going after him."
"Are you sure?" Harry asks as MJ walks off.
"Yes, I'm sure." The security guard by the stairs lets MJ through. Harry tries to follow MJ but before he reaches the stairs the security guard gets in his way.
"I'm sorry, Sir, but I can't let you through." The security guard says.
"They're probably still in the building, I'll be fine," Harry argues.
"We can't take chances," The security guard responds.
"But you take them with her!?" Harry asks, irritated. MJ follows closely after Peter into the crowded Oscorp lobby that's under repair.
"Peter!" MJ calls out to Peter, he stops and turns around toward MJ. MJ stops in front of Peter, "I can tell you're stressed,"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Peter tries to cover up his true feelings.
"Don't lie to me, Pete," MJ sees right through him, "listen, you need to stop worrying about this so much. The cops will find Kearney and you will take him down easily. If he's not a problem right now, then take this time to focus on you." MJ advices Peter.
"Yeah, you're right," Peter responds, "thank you, MJ." MJ nods.
"Anytime," She responds, "I'll see you later?"
"Of course," Peter answers, MJ smiles and walks back toward the bomb shelter. Peter smiles back at MJ before turning around and exiting Oscorp.
"So, check this out," Lieutenant Wantabe starts as Captain Stacy walks into his office at the NYPD.
"Alright," Stacy responds, "what do you have for me?"
"Well," Yuri sets a folder on the desk and opens it out. She grabs one of the papers and hands it to Stacy, "there's a warehouse in Secaucus in New Jersey that was owned by Charles Orion, who is the same guy that we arrested for possessing the super soldier drug."
"Okay?" Stacy seems intrigued.
"In a recent interview by The Daily Bugle, Kearney admitted to being in debt and that he gave the person he was indebted to the drug after he robbed Oscorp." Yuri continues, "So I think that Orion is the person Kearney was in debt and therefore working for. This could mean that Kearney knew of this warehouse and is using it as a base."
"Good work, Yuri," Stacy congratulates, but notices another paper, "what's this?
"Yeah, this part is weird," Yuri confesses, "this is a record of the warehouse being bought, but the buyer's name has been blacked out."
"Huh," Stacy starts to think, "so the buyer clearly doesn't want us to know that they bought it."
"Uh-huh, I think that this could be a clue that Kearney isn't the one in charge," Yuri tells Stacy.
"I fear you might be right," Stacy responds, "but that's not the problem right now, we need to get to that warehouse,"
"Do you know the chief in Secaucus?" Yuri asks.
"No, do you?" Stacy asks back.
"No," Yuri answers. Captain Stacy looks down in thought.
"That's fine, I'll just drive up there and find the chief tomorrow." Stacy decides, turning his head back up.
"Sounds good," Yuri finishes.
At Peter's apartment, Peter sits in his desk chair with an arm resting on his head out of boredom, slightly turning side to side.
"So," Peter says to himself, letting the word linger, "I have free time, what should I do?" Peter turns his head to his closet, thinking about his red and blue Spider-Man suit. "Alright," Peter shrugs and gets out of his chair. He walks over to the closet and opens the briefcase containing his red and blue suit. Peter grabs the suit, still torn, and grabs a sewing kit.
Peter spends the next few hours sewing his suit back together. That afternoon, Peter smiles to see his iconic red and blue suit looking as good as ever. He sets the suit down and gets up out of his chair. Peter goes to a bookshelf and grabs a comic book. He lays down on his bed and starts to read it.
The next morning, Captain Stacy walks out of an apartment complex and toward his car that's parked on the curb slightly down the street, he wears his police uniform with a trench coat on. Stacy pulls out his car keys from his trench coat pocket and presses the unlock button once he's close enough to his car. The captain gets in the driver's seat of the car and turns it on. He puts the car in gas and starts driving down the street, heading toward Secaucus.
Later, at a police station in Secaucus, Captain Martinez sits in her office chair, looking over some files. A police officer knocks on her office door before letting himself in.
"Hey Captain, you've been at that for a while. do you want me to get you a coffee?" The police officer offers, standing by the doorway.
"No thank you, I'll get it myself," Captain Martinez stands up from her desk, "it'd be a nice little break," she out of her office, and the police officer follows her.
"Any luck on this case?" The police officer asks, he and Martinez enter a break room.
"Sadly no, Marty," she responds, approaching a coffee maker. She puts all of the ingredients into the coffee maker and presses the start button. "I haven't quite pieced together any more than how sketchy this is. I mean, a warehouse purchase where all of the records were vandalized so that we don't know who bought it. If that weren't sketchy enough, the original owner was arrested in just a few days. The transaction was also roughly a million dollars which makes me think the buyer's income isn't legitimate." Captain Martinez rants while her coffee is made.
"Isn't this supposed to be a break for you?" Marty asks, in a light-hearted tone.
"Hey, you asked," Captain Martinez jokingly replies. Martinez's coffee is finished, she grabs the coffee pot and pours the coffee into a mug. She blows on the coffee before she takes a sip. Another police officer enters the break room.
"Captain Martinez, the captain from the NYPD is here to see you, he's in the lobby," he tells Martinez.
"Heh, short break," Martinez quips before walking out of the break room, "I'll talk to you later, Marty," Captain Martinez walks down a hallway toward the lobby. She reaches the lobby and sees Captain Stacy sitting in a chair. He sees Captain Martinez and gets up from the chair, he walks over to her. Once Captain Stacy reaches Captain Martinez, he sticks his arm and hands out, going for a handshake.
"Captain George Stacy, NYPD," He introduces himself, Martinez shakes his hand.
"Captain Gwen Martinez," She seconds the introductions.
"Gwen, huh? That's my daughter's name," Stacy states.
"Oh really? How old is she?" Captain Martinez asks, with excitement in her voice.
"She just hit 20, and going to Empire State University," Stacy answers.
"That's fun, but I don't think that's all you're here for," Captain Martinez speculates.
"Sadly no, I'm here to talk about a certain warehouse that you should be looking into," Stacy reveals, Martinez knows immediately what he's talking about.
"We should discuss this in my office," Captain Martinez instructs.
"I guess that would be a good idea," Stacy agrees. The two walk back through the hallway Captain Martinez came from. They eventually reach Martinez's office and she opens the door, holding it open for Stacy. He closes the door behind him.
"So," Captain Martinez starts, walking toward the back of her desk to sit in her chair, "tell me about this warehouse."
"Okay, the NYPD has been looking for a fugitive by the name of Kearney Jones. I and a partner have deduced that Kearney is hiding out in a warehouse on Seaview Drive." Stacy explains, sitting in a chair on the other side of Martinez's desk.
"Interesting," Captain Martinez responds, "I've actually been looking into that warehouse, myself,"
"Great, so do you think you'd be able to get a warrant to check it out?" Stacy asks, hoping for a quick solution.
"I wish I could but it's a bit more complicated than that," Martinez reveals, "while, yes, you are respected in New York. Here in New Jersey, we see the NYPD as collaborators with a vigilante. So yes, I believe you and would like to find this criminal, I'm not sure that a judge would approve of a hint by a vigilante collaborator."
"I guess, but can you not even try?" Stacy tries to convince Martinez.
"I mean I could but I don't want to waste my time on something that will likely fail." Captain Martinez debates.
"I can respect that," Stacy finishes, he gets up and brushes his clothes. He sticks his arm out for one last handshake. Martinez stands up as well and shakes Stacy's hand. "Good luck with that warehouse,"
"And you with your fugitive," Martinez returns. Stacy walks out of the office and down the hall. Martinez has a face of regret but also thought.
That night, Peter lies in his bed with a smile on his face, satisfied with how his day went. He turns off his lamp, gets under the blankets, turns on his side, and starts to get some sleep. The next morning, Peter goes through his typical morning routine. Once Peter finishes his breakfast toast, Spider-Man patrols around the city and then heads over to The Daily Bugle. The hero puts his casual clothes back on and Peter walks up to the bugle's entrance. Peter makes his way to J Jonah Jameson's office through the elevator. Peter arrives at the floor where Jonah's office is. The publisher is scolding a reporter when he sees Peter walk out of the elevator, so he turns his attention to Peter.
"Parker!" Jonah calls out, walking toward the young photographer, "Where have you been!?"
"Sorry Jonah," Peter responds, apologetically, "it's been quite chaotic for me, lately,"
"I guess it is your loss, you don't get paid without me," Jonah states, Peter's unsure if it was meant to be taken as a joke or not, "so, follow me into your office, and I'll see what you got," Jonah starts to walk away from Peter and towards his office, he makes a hand gesture waving in the direction of his office. Peter follows Jameson into his office.
Once they reach the office, Jameson sits in his desk chair, and Peter sits in a chair on the other side of the desk. "Show me what you got, Parker?" The publisher asks.
"More of the usual, the red and blue suit is back out there," Peter says as he hands Jameson some pictures attached with a paper clip. Jameson skims through the pictures, with his usual stern look on his face as he does it.
"Well it's about time, the red and blue look is way more iconic than whatever was going on with the red and purple fella, what's with all the nostalgia these days?" Jameson states, referencing that the red and purple suit was Spider-Man's original suit. Jameson seems pleased with the pictures, "I'll give you a little bit more than usual for giving me the red and blue suit," Jameson offers, writing a check.
"Thanks, Jonah," Peter replies, with a genuine tone.
"Don't stress it, kid," Jonah hands Peter the check, he grabs it and stands up from the chair.
"I'll see you later then," Peter says, starting to walk out of the office.
"Of course," Jameson finishes as Peter closes the door and heads out of the bugle. Peter exits The Daily Bugle and starts to walk down the street on the crowded sidewalk.
The next night, in New Jersey, Captain Martinez peeks around a corner with her eyes on the warehouse. She sees that there doesn't seem to be any sort of security guarding the warehouse. Martinez turns around toward a squad of a SWAT team and hand signs for them to advance. She and the SWAT team move toward the gates of the warehouse. Captain Martinez reaches the gate and turns around toward a SWAT officer holding loppers. The SWAT officer walks up to the gate and cuts a hole in it with the loppers. Once the hole is complete, Martinez goes first through the hole and the SWAT team follows.
The captain and the SWAT team approach a garage door. Martinez leans her ear onto the door to hear if anyone is in the room the door leads to. Martinez nods her head, signaling to the team that it's safe. Martinez finds a lock that's keeping the garage door on the floor. The SWAT officer with the loppers walks up to the lock and cuts it open.
From inside the building, Kearney's spider-sense starts to go off when Captain Martinez opens the garage door. He looks in the direction of the noise.
"Simon," He says, Simon looks up at Kearney, "there's someone here," Kearney grabs two web shooters and puts one of them on his left wrist, and the other one on his right wrist. Kearney walks in the direction his spider-sense was pointing him toward.
Captain Martinez and the SWAT team start to wander around the warehouse, quietly, with their weapons drawn. Martinez sees a hallway and gestures to the SWAT team to follow her down the hallway. They all make their way down the hallway. They eventually walk into a room that's littered with all sorts of equipment like mannequins and VHS tapes. Captain Martinez seems confused by the assortment of items.
Suddenly, Simon jumps around a corner with a shotgun in his hands, he aims the shotgun at Captain Martinez. The SWAT team aims their weapons at Simon.
"Everybody put their weapons down or I shoot your boss in the face!" Simon yells out, the SWAT team continues to aim their weapons at Simon.
"Listen, you're already under arrest so don't make this harder than it needs to be," Captain Martinez tries to convince Simon.
"I said put the weapons down! You have until I count to three," Simon threatens, still no reaction, "one," Simon starts counting, some of the SWAT officers are contemplating their captain's decision, "two," Simon continues counting, Martinez starts to think that Simon is serious, she turns her head toward the SWAT team.
"Stand down, men," Captain Martinez orders, the SWAT team lowers their weapons.
"I said put them on the ground!" Simon still isn't happy with the SWAT team just lowering their weapons. One SWAT officer puts their gun on the ground, others start to follow. Eventually, Martinez puts her pistol on the ground. Simon lowers his shotgun, "Now!" Simon yells, looking up at the ceiling before turning away and running down another hallway.
Kearney has been waiting on the ceiling the whole time. He lets go from the ceiling, shoots two webs at the floor, and pulls himself toward the floor using the webs. The SWAT team starts to panic. Kearney punches one of the SWAT officers, sending him flying across the room. Captain Martinez grabs her pistol and fires it at Kearney. Kearney dodges the bullet to the captain's surprise. Kearney plows through the SWAT team. Martinez grabs her walkie-talkie and presses the talk button.
"We need backup at the warehouse, now!" Martinez yells into the Walkie-Talkie before Kearney turns his attention toward the captain. Martinez tries to shoot at Kearney with the remaining bullets she has but he is able to dodge all of them. Before Captain Martinez can reload, Kearney grabs the pistol and flings it at a wall. He grabs Martinez by the neck and lifts her onto the wall. Martinez, being choked, grabs a taser from her belt, turns it on, and slams it onto Kearney's neck.
Kearney drops Martinez and backs away from her and the taser. Martinez uses this opportunity to sprint back down the hallway she came from. Kearney, once he gets over the taser's daze, thinks about going after Martinez. He decides against it and follows Simon through the hallway he went down. Kearney eventually sees a door that leads outside of the warehouse that's been opened.
Kearney walks through the doorway and sees Simon leaning on the wall with the shotgun in his right hand.
"I thought you'd follow me out here," Simon states in a joking tone, "so, what's next?"
"Well, the cops already know we're in Jersey, so I say we finally take care of an old friend, for good this time," Kearney responds in a sinister tone.
"Alright, but how are we going to get there? Our van is at the front with the cops," Simon states, pointing with his thumb in the direction behind him.
"There's more than one van, Simon," Kearney answers, and starts to walk away from the warehouse.
"Cool," Simon says sarcastically and starts to follow Kearney.
At the other end of the warehouse, Martinez runs out of the warehouse. She sees more cops that arrive after her message. A few cops are walking up to the warehouse.
"No, don't go in there!" Martinez pleads, "There is an incredibly dangerous person in there," The cops stop.
"How dangerous?" One of the cops asks.
"He took out an entire SWAT team," Martinez states, "I don't know who's dead and who's alive,"
"Alright, captain, we'll scout the area but won't interact with this person," The two cops proceed into the warehouse as Martinez watches in horror.
Later, Kearney and Simon see a gas station with a van parked outside. They both walk over to the gas station. Kearney opens the back doors of the van with force and gets in. Simon breaks the window of the driver's seat and the van's alarm starts blaring. Simon unlocks the door and gets in the driver's seat. He starts to hotwire the van. The owner of the van walks out of the gas station with an expression of shock and disbelief.
"What are you doing?" She yells at Simon who ignores her. The van owner walks over to the passenger window, "Get out of my van," she demands, Simon stays quiet, "Hello?" The van owner snaps her fingers at Simon. Kearney leans toward the van owner. The van owner sees Kearney come out of the darkness and backs off. The van turns on.
"You have a good one," Simon comments to the van owner before reversing out of the gas station. Simon adjusts himself onto the road and puts the car in drive. Simon drives off.
One hour later, Peter wakes up in his apartment from his spider-sense. Peter holds his head in his hand. He trails off in thought to figure out why his spider-sense is going haywire. Peter sits up in his bed with a shocked expression on his face.
"Kearney," Peter says to himself, thinking that Kearney has returned to New York City. Peter jumps out of bed, he grabs his Spider-Man suit from his closet and two web shooters. Peter puts the web shooters on his wrists. Peter swiftly puts on his Spider-Man suit. Spider-Man dives through the open window. Spider-Man speeds through the city. He passes underneath some streetlights illuminating his red and blue suit, looking just as good as ever, as Spider-Man swings through the streets.
Meanwhile, Simon has parked the van outside of an alleyway. Simon gets out. Kearney's spider-sense is going off exactly how Spider-Man's is.
"You should stay here," Simon advises, "you tend to draw a lot of attention,"
"Fine by me, I just hope Sam is here like The Master Planner said he would be," Kearney seems skeptical. Simon opens the door, opens the glove compartment, and grabs a flashlight from it. Simon gets out of the van and closes the door behind him. Simon walks around the van and toward the alleyway. The alleyway is dark and it's basically impossible to see anything in there. Simon turns the flashlight on and he sees Sam standing in front of him with a suitcase in his hand. Sam stays quiet as he hands Simon the suitcase. Simon grabs the suitcase from Sam.
"So, are you coming?" Simon asks Sam, and both of them return their hands to their sides. Sam starts walking past Simon and toward the van. Simon watches Sam as he makes his way to the van. Simon starts to follow Sam to the van. "Alright, I'm driving," Simon states. Simon and Sam reach the van, Sam climbs into the passenger seat while Simon walks around to get into the driver's seat. Once Simon gets in the driver's seat, he closes the door and places the suitcase in the back of the van. "Happy early birthday, Kearney," Simon jokes. Kearney grabs the suitcase, sits down, and places the suitcase on his lap. Kearney opens the suitcase and inside is a black bodysuit with subtle web pattering folded to fit the suitcase. There is a mask that resembles Spider-Man's on top of the bodysuit.
"Well, happy birthday to me," Kearney says, calling back to Sam's comment. Kearney takes the bodysuit and mask out of the suitcase, underneath where the bodysuit was is a blueprint for the bodysuit and mask. Kearney sets the bodysuit, mask, and suitcase down to the side and grabs the blueprint. Kearney skims through the blueprint. The blueprint proposes a flexible bodysuit that helps the user stay in the shadows. It also states that the bodysuit has been custom-fitted for Kearney's body structure. The web shooters on the wrists have a rotating mechanism that allows Kearney to switch between ten metal capsules of webbing. The blueprint states that the mask has been made to help calm Kearney's advanced senses. The blueprint also says that the mask blocks any psychic connections. Simon turns to face Kearney.
"So, now what?" Simon asks.
"Well, I'm going to try this out," Kearney replies, "and I want you two to meet me on a rooftop,"
"Rooftop? What rooftop?" Simon asks, wanting to know what Kearney's plan is.
"I don't know," Kearney answers, "any of them," Kearney grabs the bodysuit and mask and opens the van's back doors. Kearney gets out of the van and closes the back doors. Kearney walks into the dark alley where Sam was.
Spider-Man continues swinging, relying on his spider-sense to locate Kearney. Suddenly, the hero's spider-sense starts to get slightly more intense. Spider-Man grunts from the change in pain.
"Huh," Spider-Man says to himself, in a strained voice, "I guess I'm Marco and Kearney's Polo," Spider-Man continues in the direction that makes the spider-sense even more intense.
With the black bodysuit on, Kearney holds the mask in his hand. The front of the mask is facing away from Kearney. Kearney raises the mask above him and puts the mask on.
Suddenly, the pain in the back of Spider-Man's head disappears. "Where'd he go?" Spider-Man asks himself, he sees a rooftop and swings over to it. The hero lands on the rooftop and he puts one of his hands on his head. "Come on, spider-sense," Spider-Man motivates himself. He searches around the area using his spider-sense, thinking that Kearney is close. But, he can't feel him anywhere. "He must be using something that blocks me from sensing him, I guess I'm on my own with this one," Spider-Man states out loud.
"It's... quiet," Kearney announces in a quiet voice, it's slightly muffled by the mask. Kearney puts his hands on a nearby brick wall, they stick to the wall. Kearney pulls himself up. He puts his feet on the wall, they also stick to it. Kearney starts to climb up the wall up to the rooftop.
Kearney eventually reaches the rooftop. He walks toward the end with a view of the street. Kearney looks down toward the street. Fear and nervousness start to brew in him. He swallows his fear and readies his web-shooters.
Spider-Man walks down the rooftop he landed on, ready to swing away and continue his search. He turns around and looks into the distance just to be sure he can't see Kearney. The hero sees a muscular-looking figure walking toward the end of another roof, he instantly recognizes who it is.
"It's him," Spider-Man states out loud, he starts to sprint in Kearney's direction. Spider-Man frantically rushes toward Kearney. He reaches the end of the rooftop and jumps off of it toward another rooftop. The hero continues running on rooftops, trying his hardest to reach Kearney. Spider-Man uses webs to propel himself forward to go even faster.
Kearney jumps off of the rooftop. He shoots a web at a building and starts to swing through the streets, disappearing from Spider-Man's sight. Spider-Man turns left and jumps off the building he's on. Spider-Man starts swinging after Kearney. Kearney swings parallel to the street. Kearney swings to the left at a turn and starts swinging down another street. Spider-Man swings left toward the street where he last saw Kearney go down.
However, Kearney is nowhere to be seen. Spider-Man swings toward the wall of a skyscraper and grabs onto it. "No!" The hero yells out for a swift moment. Spider-Man tries and use his spider-sense to see where Kearney went, but there's still nothing.
A little earlier, Captain Stacy drives up to the warehouse in New Jersey. He sees ambulances and police vehicles with their emergency lights on. The captain pulls on the other side of the road than the warehouse. There is police tape blocking off the warehouse which is guarded by a couple of officers. Stacy puts his car in park and turns the car off. He removes the keys from the ignition and gets out of his car.
The captain is wearing a white buttoned-down with brown dress pants. Captain Stacy approaches the police tape.
"Excuse me, sir, this area is blocked off," A police officer warns. Captain Stacy takes his badge out of his pants pocket.
"Captain George Stacy, NYPD," Stacy announces to get into the crime scene. The police officers move out of his way. Captain Stacy goes under the police tape and into the crime scene. Stacy wanders around the crime scene looking for Captain Martinez. He eventually sees an ambulance with the back doors open. Martinez is sitting on the edge of the back of the ambulance with a blanket around her shoulders. She looks shaken. Stacy approaches Captain Martinez.
"It was terrible," Martinez starts, looking at the ground, "you should've seen it,"
"I wish I had, but I need to know what you know if we have a shot at catching him," Stacy responds.
"You mean so that your friend can catch him?" Captain Martinez looks up at Stacy.
"I guess you could say it like that," Stacy replies, his voice grows stern, "but, I still need to know if you know where Kearney went?"
"I didn't see him go anywhere, the last time I saw him he went down a hallway in the warehouse," Martinez answers.
"I see," Stacy says, wishing that Martinez had seen Kearney leave, "but, thanks for your input," Captain Stacy turns around and starts to walk out of the crime scene and toward his car.
"Know this, Captain," Martinez calls out, "if it weren't for your friend, none of this would be happening," Stacy freezes for a moment, thinking about what Martinez said. Stacy blinks, then turns his head toward Martinez.
"That's not important, right now," Stacy replies, then continues to walk to his car.
Later, Kearney is swinging toward an apartment complex. Kearney grabs onto the wall of the apartment complex. Kearney sees one apartment with the window open. Kearney climbs toward the window, looks through it, and sees a bed, a CRT, and a desk with a bunch of drawers. Kearney climbs through the window and into the apartment.
Kearney approaches the desk and slides one of the drawers to him. He sees a sewing kit. He notices that the main colors of the thread are red, black, and blue. Kearney smiles under his mask, he slides the drawer back in. Kearney raises his fists and slams them down on the desk, breaking it in two.
Kearney destroys the desk and all of the drawers. Kearney steps back from the destroyed desk, grabs his mask, and slips it off. Kearney's spider-sense comes back. Kearney squints his eyes while he adjusts.
Spider-Man is swinging through the streets looking for anything that could hint toward Kearney's presence. Suddenly, a lingering pain in the back of the hero's head returns. Spider-Man starts to speed up in a direction. The subtle pain becomes more prominent, and Spider-Man knows he's going in the right direction.
The pain gets stronger and stronger as Spider-Man gets closer and closer to Kearney. However, the signal suddenly goes away. The hero gasps and starts to go faster. Spider-Man sees a building he knows all too well, an apartment complex with one window open.
"No," Spider-Man mutters to himself. He swings toward the open window. He reaches the window, he crawls through it to get into Peter's apartment. Spider-Man sees his work desk with all of his extra web, his sewing kit, and his laptop. All of it is just gone. Spider-Man turns around "Does he know?" Spider-Man runs and dives out the window once more.
Spider-Man expeditiously swings toward the Oscorp Building. Spider-Man lands in front of the stairs that lead up to the front doors. The security guards who guard the front doors seem confused by his presence. Spider-Man speeds up the stairs and bursts through the front doors. The security guards are alarmed by Spider-Man's panic.
"Did someone get in!?" One of the guards yells out, turning on their walkie-talkie. Spider-Man runs toward the stairwell, followed by the guards. Spider-Man enters the stairwell, his mind only thinking of the possibility that Kearney got into Oscorp. After all, he's done it before. Spider-Man sees the door that leads to the bunker. The hero opens the door and makes his way down the stairs into the bunker.
However, instead of Kearney attacking MJ and Harry, he only sees Harry and MJ sleeping in their sleeping bags. MJ and Harry wake up from all the noise. "False alarm," One of the security guards states before turning around and exiting the bunker.
"What's going on?" Harry asks, with fatigue in his voice. Spider-Man, distracted by thinking about where Kearney is, ignores the question. The hero turns around and faces a security guard.
"Whatever security you have, double it," Spider-Man orders, he runs back up the stairs into the stairwell. Spider-Man leaves the stairwell and enters the Oscorp Lobby. He dashes through the lobby and through the front doors. Spider-Man leaps in the air and begins to swing back toward his apartment.
