Lucas shook his head and said, “she’s got it in her head that you probably think she’s a bad soldier because she needed to be helped during the last couple of incidents. I think you should talk to her about it and while I know you were mad that someone tried to hurt her you might tell her that so she doesn’t think your mad at her and no thankfully she is not engaged to him unfortunately her fiancé is just as bad in my eyes.” Lucas left the room then leaving Elliott alone. Elliott moved to the bed and waited for Kay to finish getting dressed. When she came out, she was surprised to see Lucas had left and Elliott was back, Elliott could tell she was upset even as she tried to hide it. He got up and walked over to her and said, “I’m sorry if I upset you earlier. Lucas told me you were upset and that it might have something to do with me being mad when I left earlier. I want you to know I was mad because someone drugged you, I wasn’t mad at you. I also wanted you to know I’m glad I have you in my troop.”
Kay was surprised and asked, “why would you be glad at this point I’ve been nothing but trouble for you, I’ve even put you in danger.” Elliott could see she was upset so he pulled her close as he said, “you have never put me in danger, I chose to go after you myself and as for you being nothing but trouble for me, that’s not true either you helped me get my troop to act more like a team and you’ve been helping us strengthen our weaknesses together you have helped us time and again. Plus, you’re still better than all of us with a sword and probably archery, I may have you when it comes to hand-to-hand combat though.” She laughed a little at his attempt at a joke and said, “we can test that when we get back.” He pulled back a little and smiled at her as he said, “is that a challenge then.” She smiled and said, “we’ll, see.”
He let his smile fall as he wiped a tear off her cheek and said, “unless I tell you otherwise know I thank you’re doing good. Okay.” She nodded and he smiled at her and said, “good. Now I should probably go get dressed.” He pulled away reluctantly and then he grabbed his stuff and headed for the bathroom.
