Kay was surprised as she looked at him. He was worried as he looked at her and she could tell so she relaxed and said, “you have been helping and I appreciate it.” He relaxed too and smiled a small smile and said, “while I’m sorry he’s harassing you I am glad I’m helping you at least.” She smiled a small smile back and said, “that makes two of us.” His smile faltered as he asked, “what was he really doing in here?”
Kay shook her head and said, “I’m not sure. He said he wanted to convince me to stay in his troop, but he blocked my exit and came close to me. He had just lifted my chin when you knocked and I’m so glad you came when you did, I don’t think I want to know what his plan was.” Elliott began to clench his fists as she told him what had happened and his anger began to build. She then said, “thank you for coming by I know you were just doing your job and coming to lead me to my new room but still. I’m grateful for that.” Elliott forced himself to relax and focused on the fact she was still okay. So, he said, “don’t worry about thanking me I’m just glad you’re okay. Now hurry up and pack so we can get you out of here.” She nodded and quickly packed her stuff and left with Elliott to her new room.
When they got there, he gave her the key and said, “lock your door at night and if you need help with anything my room is right next-door. I picked this room for you because I had my suspicions, he was harassing you and wanted to place you somewhere he would think twice about coming to.” She nodded and said, “thank you and I’m sorry you had to go out of your way to help me.” He shrugged and said, “I’m helping you because that is my choice you don’t need to thank me or feel bad for it okay.” She nodded and he said, “how about you unpack and relax here for the day. Also, you have your own bathroom through those doors, since all the rest of my troop are men, you can’t exactly share a room or a bathroom with them.” Kay was surprised she was used to sharing a bathroom with the other girls in her last troop but she was glad to have her own now and said, “thank you for all your help.”
