Kay said, “Yes he and his sisters are some of the few who know my real name, and who my family is.” Elliott felt a twinge of jealousy as he thought about Lucas knowing Kay better than him. Kay brought them all out of their thoughts, as she asked, “Are we going to race or not?” they smiled and then they began the race Kay and Elliott were in the front with the rest of the troop not far behind when they reached the waterfall Elliott won the race. Kay smiled and said, “Congratulations you beat me in a challenge what would you like for your prize? Remember you can choose to let them know or not it’s up to you.”
Elliott came up beside her and asked, “What if I want you to do something instead of asking for information?” she shrugged and said, “There are restrictions on what you can ask of me but you can try.” Elliott then lowered his voice so only she would hear as he said, “Then I ask that you end your engagement with the guy you’re supposed to marry in a month. I may not know who he is but I can tell you don’t love him or you would be excited for the wedding. You deserve to find someone you love.” Kay was caught off guard by his request she had expected him to ask her something and even when he asked if he could ask her to do something instead, she still wasn’t expecting this. She looked at him and asked, “Are you sure that’s what you want? You are most likely wasting your prize.” He shrugged and said, “That’s still what I want.”
She smiled and shook her head slightly and said, “Then you are wasting your prize but since it’s the first time you beat me in a challenge, I will let you pick something later if you would like.” She rode away not explaining further as she headed to the bottom of the waterfall and let her horse drink. She climbed off and looked at the waterfall wondering if the cave was still behind the waterfall. She tied her horse to a nearby tree and began to go to the edge of the pond near the waterfall. She smiled when she saw it and slipped behind the waterfall when the guys weren’t paying attention.
