He didn’t like eating with his family but it was required so long as they were at the castle. Kay sat down to eat with the troop a little after one of them a man named Kyle asked, “so Kay how well do you know Prince Lucas?” Kyle had jet-black hair and grass-green eyes. Kay looked up at them and asked, “what do you mean?” Kyle gave her a mischievous smile and said, “I overheard he stood up for you to Evan and kissed you more than once on his short trip here. I also heard you two were left unattended for a little bit. so, I want to know how true the rumors are and I’m curious what your relationship is with him.”
Kay smirked and said, “your curious huh, how about a deal then beat me in a match and I’ll tell you anything you want to know about his and my supposed relationship and whether or not there is one. What do you say?” Kyle frowned and said, “well I guess I’ll never know then. Can I at least know if Prince Elliott knows?” As he said that Elliott was walking up behind him and asked, “do I know what?” Kyle flinched and Kay laughed a little and said, “he apparently heard some rumors about Prince Lucas’s visit and wanted to know if they were true and what my relationship was with him. I challenged him to a battle for the answers but he declined and now wants to know if you know.” Elliott caught on quickly and smiled as he said, “oh, then in that case yes I know the truth of the matter but if you want to know you’ll have to beat her.”
Kyle shrugged and said, “I guess we’ll have to make our own assumptions then.” Kay didn’t falter as she said, “if you want to make assumptions about a Prince that’s between you and him. But I don’t recommend it.” Kyle faltered and said, “you’re probably right. Can I at least pick the challenge?” Kay shrugged and said, “fine but I get to pick the location.” She had a feeling he was going to pick archery and didn’t want to be at a disadvantage.
Kyle thought it wouldn’t matter where the challenge took place so he agreed and as Kay suspected he chose archery. Kay agreed without hesitation which caught Kyle off guard.
