The girls went to their rooms and Kay got ready for breakfast. When Kay came out Elliott had come out of the room next to hers. Kay was surprised to see him there but before she could say anything he asked, “how are you feeling today?” Kay smiled a little and said, “better I still have a slight headache but other than that I’m okay. How are you today.” Elliott relaxed and smiled as he said, “I’m okay. I’m glad the smoke doesn’t seem to have any really bad after-effects on you I was worried it would.”
Kay wasn’t happy about last night’s events she felt like she felled to keep everyone safe, she looked down and said, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to put you in danger or to cause you to worry.” Before Elliott could say anything, Dillon found them he hesitated for a second when he was approaching, he saw Elliott relax and then saw him get concerned, Dillon smiled for a second and thought ‘so he’s fallen for Kay interesting’ he then approached and said, “there you two are.” He came up with prince Lucas who raised an eyebrow at Kay she forced a smile and Lucas realized what was going on in her head and said, “you two go ahead to breakfast I want to talk to Kay for a moment about last night.” Elliott said, “we’ll see you at breakfast then.” The guards led the way for them leaving Kay and Lucas alone.
Lucas smiled and said, “come on let’s walk and talk.” He led her in the opposite direction as he said, “you did well last night whether you believe it or not. You saved Alice.” Before he could finish, she cut him off and said, “I also put Prince Elliott in danger and he had to save me. I’m the soldier, I’m supposed to protect him not the other way around.” Lucas smiled and said, “you and I both know you are not just a soldier. Even if you were to expect one soldier to take on so many enemies at once is asking too much. Elliott could have sent Dillon after you but he chose to go after you himself. He put himself in danger it wasn’t you so stop blaming yourself. You did what you could that’s all your expected to do.” Kay looked down and said, “still I feel like I failed.”
