After they ate, they laid down to get some rest sleeping in shifts so they weren’t attacked in their sleep. The next morning Lucas noticed Kay was still a little distracted so he pulled out his bow and said, “Kay how about we practice your archery since from what I overheard you have lost your edge.”
Kay smiled and said, “then you heard wrong.” They picked targets far ahead of them that were at least one hundred yards away and shot them as they rode, whoever got closer would be the winner and they collected their arrows as they passed. Kay won the match with archery and smiled as Lucas said, “I see I’m still no match against you with a bow.” Elliott was surprised at her accuracy and was glad she hid this from Xavier and his parents she would have never been placed in his troop otherwise. He was glad she trusted him enough to know and that she seemed to be acting like herself again.
