The others in the troop were trying to act casual as they watched Kyle stumble over his words. Dillon was just standing there as if nothing was wrong.
When Kay turned her attention to him, he shrugged and said, “My bet was on him talking to you about telling us if you need a break. I also bet something happened while you two were separated from us. I’m still deciding what that is though.” Kay was a little surprised and asked, “What makes you think something happened?” Dillon shrugged and said, “There are many reasons but for now let’s just say I have a feeling about this.” Kay shook her head and said, “So you decided to spy. Did you really think we wouldn’t notice you guys?” Dillon smiled and said, “Well honestly I thought you would be too out of it to notice us.”
Kay shook her head again turned and walked back into her tent; she was done with this conversation. She walked off to train and Elliott asked, “Where are you headed?” Kay looked at him like he was crazy and said, “To train. why am I supposed to be doing something else?” Elliott rubbed his temples and said, “You’re supposed to be taking it easy today. You already passed out on the way here.” Kay waved him off and said, “I feel fine now but if it makes you feel better I’ll work on archery.”
Elliott said, “Dillon go with her. Make sure she doesn’t overdo it.” Kay turned crossed her arms and said, “I’m fine. I don’t need anyone keeping an eye on me.” Elliott crossed his arms and said, “Until your healed someone will be keeping an eye on you since you have a hard time telling us when you don’t feel well.” Kay said, “That happened one time and I said I would let you guys know next time or I will just take a break. Why are you assigning someone to watch me?” Elliott said, “Because you also said you thought you could make it to camp when you passed out last time. So, Dillon will go with you and keep an eye on you just in case.”
Kay smiled then and said, “fine he can keep an eye on me if he can keep up.” Kay turned and headed for a stack of boxes next to a horse and a tree.
