Grayson had a couple of guards stay with them as a precaution before leaving. Elliott checked on Kay throughout the night, near the middle of the night while he was feeling her forehead to make sure she wasn’t getting sick she moved and caught his hand and held onto it. Lucas saw it but pretended he was asleep; he was surprised when Elliott used his foot to bring his chair next to the bed instead of pulling his hand free. Elliott sat in the chair next to the bed and continued to let Kay hold his hand he didn’t want to pull away from her. The next morning when Lucas woke up, he found that Elliott had fallen asleep with Kay holding his hand.
Kay woke up soon after Lucas the first thing she noticed was she was holding someone’s hand it took her a second to realize it was Elliott’s. when she did Lucas chuckled quietly and said, “one of the times he was checking on you, you moved and caught his hand I guess he didn’t want to pull away from you because he moved his chair closer and let you continue to hold his hand.” Kay was a little surprised and looked back at Elliott, she would’ve expected him to pull away but she was glad he didn’t. Kay then asked, “what are you two doing in here anyway.” Lucas smiled and indicated to Elliott and said, “he didn’t think you would be safe in your room since we didn’t know who drugged you and you needed someone to keep an eye on you, so we decided you should stay in his room since he’s a trained medic. He then decided I should stay in here with you two because I sent my men to your room to await the person who drugged you and because he thought you would be more comfortable with both of us in here instead of just him.”
Kay tightened her grip a little without realizing it which woke Elliott up he smiled when he saw Kay was awake and said, “your awake, that’s good. how do you feel?” Kay hadn’t been paying attention and hadn’t realized he had woken up and jumped a little releasing his hand in the process. When she realized he had woken up she relaxed and said, “sorry we didn’t mean to wake you.”
