When they got back to camp it was getting late and kay went to her tent to change as they took the dear and rabbits to prepare them for dinner. When she was done she set up her cot and lit her lantern so she could read the two letters she had in her bag she had made sure it didn’t get blood or water on it. she sat on the cot and pulled out the two letters and read threw them Helens was just an update on the camp and the plant. The other letter was from her friend it was clear from the letter that they had figured something happened to her but they didn’t know what. They hoped she was okay and said they would check on the letter every now and again waiting for her to respond.
She smiled at the letter and wrote a response explaining she had been caught sneaking out and she was under tighter supervision after that and hadn’t been able to get out there until now. she apologized for the long wait on the response, and that she didn’t know if she would be able to make it back again or not. She then put out her lantern and put her letters and response in her bag she went out and ate with the others then went back to her tent wishing everyone a good night. She waited a little bit before sneaking over to the waterfall and placing the letter. She then drew something new on the wall letting them know she had come back before heading back to her tent and going to bed.
The next morning, she fished for something to eat later before starting her morning exercises. The others joined her as they worked on their skills together. Later they decided to go exploring they let Kay lead she smiled as they went. Eventually, they came to a small cliff side Kay had jumped off the cliff when she was a kid this was her favorite spot to swim. She went to the edge and looked out over the land.
It was one of the few places she felt at peace. As the others caught up she turned and smiled back at them. As they came closer they heard a noise but couldn’t tell where it was coming from until the ground under Kay broke away and she began to fall.
