It was set for a little more than a month from now and she was feeling more and more like it was a mistake, one she felt she would regret for the rest of her life even if the marriage ended quickly. Elliott could see the conflict in her eyes as she looked at the stars without really seeing them.
When they got inside Kay looked forward but it was clear she wasn’t seeing much as she stayed in her thoughts. When Kyle asked, “What are you thinking about?” she blinked for a second before smiling and said, “It’s nothing. Just thinking about the future.” The others had stopped when Kyle asked his question all wanting to know the answer Kyle then asked, “What about the future has you so distracted and down?” Kay’s smile faltered and Elliott said, “Kyle that’s enough questions.”
Elliott figured Kay was thinking about her engagement but he still didn’t know much about it. Kay forced a smile and said, “Sorry it’s just not something I like to talk about.” She walked past them and headed for her room. Once inside she locked the door and leaned against it for a moment, she still had her hair up in a bun with the roses in it. She moved away from the door and went to the bathroom not really looking around as she did.
She grabbed the pajama set off her bed as she passed it and changed in the bathroom. She was going to take her hair down in the room when she was done. but as she walked out of the bathroom someone caught her and covered her mouth with a cloth as someone else stuck her with a needle. she kicked the second guy back and he hit the table knocking over the lamp on it. The first guy lost his balance as she kicked and fell into the wall behind him.
She broke his hold on her and took in a couple breaths of fresh air just before she dodged the second guy’s attempt to catch her again. She was out of it as she hit him on his way past her but she still got his side. She could hear knocking and a doorknob moving but she couldn’t place it. Then the first guy had the needle and he got her in the arm as a wave of dizziness caught hold of her.
