Once set up she walked up to Kyle and asked, “you ready for your challenge?” they set up a target and Kyle marked the spot he wanted the challenge to start he took his shot hitting the center of the target He smiled and stepped back. Kay stepped up and shot her arrow hitting his at just the right angle to knock his out. She then stepped back ten steps and shot again as she continued to back up hitting right next to her arrow and stopped at twenty feet before releasing a third hitting next to her other two.
Kyle was quickly losing his confidence in winning this challenge. Kay then marked her spot and said, “start here we go back ten steps for every bulls eye we each get.” She then walked up and grabbed her arrows and said, “mark your spot and grab your arrows before the next shot. Someone else can make the calls on who wins. The first to not get a bulls eye loses. Do you have any questions?” he shook his head and headed for Kay’s spot before releasing another arrow he hit the center once again and took ten steps back before removing his arrow. Kay moved to his spot and shot hitting the center then moved ten steps back marked her spot and retrieved her arrow.
Kyle moved to his spot and shot his arrow and missed the center. Elliott and Dillon called that Kay was the winner at the same time. Kay smiled and Kyle smiled and asked, “how were you the worst in your last troop with those skills?” Kay looked at him and asked, “would you rather I had stayed with them?” Kyle quickly said, “no we’re glad you’re with us. it’s just I can’t see how you were considered the worst I know some of the archers and I doubt they could do that.”
Kay said, “it’s better if you don’t know the answer to that question.” Kyle looked at her and said, “let me guess, you were hiding it from Xavier.” Kay didn’t say a word and Kyle said, “don’t worry I won’t tell anyone else though the others have their suspicions.” They were far enough away the others didn’t hear their conversation but Elliott could tell Kay was a little upset by it for a second as he looked at them.
