He walked over when he saw her shiver and a tear run down her cheek, he draped his cloak around her as he said, “I thought we talked about this.” She flinched at his voice and the cloak being draped around her but she didn’t move away or reject the cloak she just was surprised he was there. He then reached out and wiped the tear off her cheek before he pulled her into a hug and said, “Whatever you’re debating on in your head all I can say is trust your judgment and make a decision. Letting yourself spiral is not the answer but I know you generally make good decisions even if they seem bad initially.” Her eyes filled with more tears as she asked, “What if I make the wrong choice and something goes wrong.” He pulled her closer and said, “Then we will help you fix it.”
She pulled away and asked, “What would you say if someone told you I was lying to you?” He could tell the answer to this question meant more to her than she was trying to show so he said, “I guess that would depend on who is telling me on whether or not I believe them but I would trust that you have your reasons for it. After all, you did with the archery thing. I don’t believe you would intentionally lie to me and I would like to believe that you trust me enough to tell me what you can and would one day tell me what you can’t right now.” She hated that she couldn’t tell him everything right now but she was glad to know he would wait and listen to her before making judgments. She then asked, “What if I was lying about who I am?” He took her hands and pulled her into a hug as he said, “I would trust you have your reasons and would tell me one day. For now, don’t worry about if you can’t tell me something.”
She berried her face in his chest as she held tighter to his shirt and asked. “why would you trust me?” He pulled her closer and said, “I doubt you want me hurt or dead if you did you had plenty of chances to just let it happen but you have done nothing but try your best to protect me.
