She had almost passed back out as she heard Elliott mutter, “Please be okay. I don’t know what I would do if anything happens to you, but I know I couldn’t handle it.” She passed out as he got up and moved out from under the ledge and called to his men and said, “I’m okay but Kay has been injured. toss me down my bag. We might be here all night so attach a couple of blankets and toss them down with her bag.”
They did as he said and Dillon said, “We will try and find a safe way down to you.” Elliott called back and said, “Wait until morning head back to camp for now it will be dark soon you might miss something in the dark it’s not safe.” They knew he was right but they didn’t like the thought of leaving him there alone with Kay injured but did as he said. Elliott grabbed the bags and went back to Kay and tended to her wounds. As he did he noticed a few minor injuries on himself he hadn’t noticed before, but he ignored them as he finished helping Kay.
After he tended to her wounds he wrapped the blankets around her and went to get firewood. When he came back he got to work on building a fire to help keep them warm for the night. Once the fire was going he moved Kay closer and to the other side so he could stay close to her and keep an eye on the opening. He kept his sword beside him as he stayed awake to keep an eye on her and the surroundings. Sometime near the middle of the night, it had started to rain and a man with black hair and blue eyes came to their makeshift camp.
Elliott grabbed his sword when he saw the man but the man held up his hands and said, “I didn’t come to hurt you. My name is Lee. I live close by and saw your fire. When it started to rain my wife and I began to worry and she sent me to come check on you.” The man saw Kay’s bandages and said, “Your friend is injured. It would probably be better if you come back with me to my house it would be warmer and safer there for her.” Elliott was reluctant to agree but he knew the man was right about it being warmer at least and she wouldn’t be under the ledge they just fell from so he agreed.
