He nodded and offered his arm for her to hold onto so she could walk more, he knew he wouldn’t be able to carry her and fight if someone saw them and she was in no condition to fight right now, not again. He saw a barn not too far away when he was looking for a way into the house so, he led her there. When they got there, he said, “stay here I’ll go in first to see if it’s clear.” She started to argue when he said, “Don’t even think about arguing on this you can barely stand right now do you really think you can fight?” She knew he was right so she sat down in between a bush and one of the walls hiding her from plain sight.
He nodded once and headed inside to see if there was anyone in the building. He checked everywhere but didn’t see anyone so he went back out and got Kay. When they were inside, he had her sit down and said, “you can rest here for a little bit. Help should be on its way and I can keep watch until they get here. So, you just rest.” Kay nodded and leaned against the wall as Elliott kept watch so nobody could sneak up on them. Kay had let herself relax and fell asleep almost instantly.
she felt safe with Elliott nearby though she didn’t like the thought of needing to be protected especially since she was the soldier and he was the prince. She felt like she had failed at her job she was supposed to be the one protecting him but now he was in danger because she wasn’t strong enough to beat the kidnappers at the castle. While she slept Elliott noticed she had started to shiver so he draped his coat around her and she relaxed again. When he looked back out the window, he saw Dillon leading the way as he followed the marks left by Elliott. Then he saw Prince Lucas and a few guards with him and Elliott relaxed a little.
When they raided the house, they captured everyone inside. Elliott tried to wake Kay but she was in too deep of sleep to be woken up so, he picked her up and carried her out to the group as a man said, “prince Lucas this is all the men that were in the house, but Kay was not in the house.” Lucas was worried as he asked, “are you sure she’s not here?” Elliott had gotten close enough for them to hear then and said, “she’s right here.
