before Kay could answer the king and queens messenger came up and said, “her highness the queen and his majesty the king requires the presence of soldier Kay.”
Kay and Elliott were surprised and Elliott asked, “do you mind if I come?” Kay shrugged and said, “I’m not sure what it’s about.” The messenger said, “if prince Elliott wishes to join, he may sense it involves a soldier from his troop.” The man turned and left quickly and Kay and Elliott followed. When they got there Lucas was in the room and when he saw Kay he smiled and said, “my dear little Kay, I thought you had to practice. Did you decide to join me after all?”
The king and queen were surprised they had just found out Kay knew the prince personally but wanted to know where their relationship stood. They weren’t expecting to hear such affectionate words from prince Lucas. Kay smiled at him and said, “I was called here I wasn’t aware you would be here.” Lucas’s smile grew and said, “then it’s a happy coincidence.” Kay nodded slightly.
Alexander then said, “Kay, we called you here to ask what exactly is your relation to the prince? Are you dating him?” both Kay and Lucas were shocked and both quickly said, “No! Not ever!” At the same time then Lucas said, “while yes, kay and I are close we are in no way in a relationship, and we would never be in one. Our relationship is completely platonic. She is merely someone I highly respect and have known since childhood I would sooner see her as a sister than a partner.” Kay said, “that’s right your majesty. It’s completely platonic.” Everyone in the room was surprised except the attendants for Lucas they had known before coming here.
Elliott relaxed a little when he heard them both say there was nothing between them but friendship. Then the queen said, “one of my men reported seeing you kiss her. Was he mistaken?” Lucas shrugged and said, “I kissed her cheek. What is your point it’s not the first time I’ve kissed her cheek like I said I see her more as a sister and besides I wanted to test a theory I had that I found quite interesting.
