When Kay realized it was Elliott, she let him up as she shook her head a little. She closed the door quickly and she continued to fight the effects of the smoke, at this point adrenalin, was the only thing keeping her on her feet though she did relax a little when she saw it was Elliott, but she didn’t understand why he was there, then all she could think about was getting him out of there. She started to walk when she started getting dizzy and had to hold onto the wall for support. When Elliott saw her hold the wall his concern grew and he came over to her and asked, “are you okay?” she didn’t answer him as she continued to try and walk out. He had her look at him as he asked, “can you make it up the stairs?”
Then they heard something from the top of the stairs before she could answer him and Elliott pulled Kay with him to a room nearby. They hid there until the men left, Kay was still dizzy and was holding Elliott’s arm he could feel her swaying so he pulled her into a hug and he held her steady, she put her head against his chest as they stood there. She felt better as he held her; it didn’t feel like the world was shifting as badly. They listened as the voices got closer, they could hear them opening the door to the room Kay was just in then they heard one of them say “shit, where the hell did she go? How the hell did she even get out of the room?” The other guy then said, “she would have had to pass us to get out. She should still be down here. The smoke should be working so she couldn’t have gone far. Let’s look around.”
Kay listened as they came closer opening every door and checking every room as they went. She moved away from Elliott a little as the men stopped outside the room they were in. she prepared for a fight and as soon as the door opened Kay saw there were two men the first one was the shorter of the two but was still taller than her, he had blond hair and brown eyes. he was skinnier then the second guy who was built like a bouncer. He look to be about six foot; he was bald and had green eyes.
