Kay glared at him and said, “I’m not your anything and I would appreciate it if you would stop referring to me like that. Now tell me why you and your men are attacking the carriage of the princes I serve.” Cole frowned and said, “why must you lower yourself to the station of a lowly guard when you can marry me and live comfortably and relax at my home.”
Kay rolled her eyes and said, “no thank you, I refuse to ever marry you. I don’t even know why you try. I’ve already told you not only that I wasn’t interested in you but I am already engaged. While it might be an arranged marriage and I don’t really like the guy that doesn’t change the fact that I’m engaged.” Cole cut her off and said, “just tell me who he is and I’ll help you break the engagement then.” Kay shook her head and said, “even if I wasn’t engaged, I still wouldn’t marry you, I have no feelings for you.” Cole shrugged and said, “you don’t have feelings for the guy your engaged to so what’s the problem?” Kay pinched the bridge of her nose and said, “I’m not going over, this with you again.”
He smiled and said, “oh come now...” Elliott had to resist the urge to defend Kay, he wasn’t happy to hear she was engaged but at the same time he didn’t like the way Cole was talking to her. before Cole could finish his sentence Kay cut him off glared at him, and said, “finish that sentence and I’ll cut your tongue out.” Cole laughed and said, “you can’t attack me here we’re not in Kings Pass you have no authority here.” Kay crossed her arms and said, “Prince Lucas, may I have your permission to deal with him how I see fit.” Cole laughed again but before he could say anything Lucas dropped down from the trees and landed behind Kay and said, “you know you have my permission to act as you please, though I’m not sure I like how this guy is treating you would you mind if I take care of him for you? Also how long did you know I was there?”
Kay shrugged and said, “the whole time.” Lucas smiled and said, “you’re getting better at detection then.”
