he relaxed then and she realized he hadn’t let go of her hand after pulling her into the tent. He moved closer and put his forehead to hers and said, “I’m glad you are okay. You had me worried today.” As she looked at him she realized his eyes were closed, he looked so tired. She smiled gently and said, “You didn’t answer me. Did you treat your wounds yet and why are you still up?”
She saw a small smile spread on his face as he said, “No I haven’t yet and I was going over training for tomorrow.” she said, “Then come on let’s treat them now.” He was surprised she was offering to help him again and asked, “Why are you wanting to help me treat them?” she shrugged as she smiled a little more and said, “I can always go get Dillon to help you if you would prefer.” He frowned a little and said, “No I would rather have your help.”
She stifled a laugh as she said, “Then come on.” He grabbed the cream off his desk as she led him past. She sat on his cot and had him sit with her. he did as she wanted, gave her the medication, and took off his shirt. As he sat in front of her she began to get the ointment out and rubbed it in her hands for a second so, it wouldn’t be cold as she rubbed it on his back and arm.
They stayed quiet until she was done. She gave him the medicine and said, “We never really talked about the marriage thing.” He got up, put the medicine up, and put a shirt on as he asked, “What would you like to know?” she shrugged and said, “You said you thought about everything but what about if one of us falls in love with the other?” Elliott figured now would be as good a time as any to tell her how he felt so he said, “That would depend on who is falling in love with who considering I’m already in love with you, things would stay the same. If it was you who fell in love with me then you can decide what happens next. Like I told you when I brought up the marriage thing you have complete control and can end the marriage or continue it in any way you want. Like if you fall in love with someone else, we will end the marriage so you can be with them. So long as your happy and safe that’s all that matters.”
