Kay was caught off guard when he said that he was already in love with her. She got up and moved closer as she asked, “Why would you be in love with me? I have to lie to you so much and I’m not exactly princess material.” Elliott took her hands in his and looked her in the eyes as he said, “You already told me you have to lie about some things and that you have your reasons. You have also told me you would tell me when the time is right, I trust that you will. As for you not being princess material, I don’t want an average princess. Until you decide otherwise you are my princess and the only one I want.” She stepped closer then and kissed him, he was surprised but pulled her closer deepening the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist neither wanting to let go or stop the kiss.
Then Kay could feel Dillon approaching and broke the kiss as she looked at the tent entrance. She smiled back at Elliott and said, “Dillon is coming we can talk more tomorrow night. I trust your opinion on who you think should know by the way so if you want to tell anyone you can just make sure they can be trusted to keep it a secret.” He looked at her and said, “I think it would be wise to tell the rest of the troop. I know they won’t tell anyone who doesn’t need to know. We will probably have to tell my parents at some point as well but I’ll leave that to you to decide.” She nodded and said, “tell them if you need to but not unless it’s needed they are more likely to accept it hearing it from you.” He reluctantly released her and turned to the entrance to wait for Dillon as she walked to the back to slip out she saw her note and the one he planned on replacing it with.
It didn’t take her long to read them and she smiled as she realized he had been her childhood friend that she had never met. She slipped out of his tent happier than she had been in a while. Elliott had turned just in time to see her leave and her smile made his heart skip a beat. To him, she was more beautiful when she smiled like that and he wanted to see it again. He picked up the training schedule for tomorrow and pretended to be going over it as Dillon announced himself.
