Kay watched the guys in the troop laughing and smiling as they rode. She was glad she was with them now and they could have some fun before she had to go back home. She rode faster and caught up with them and asked, “Anyone up for a race?” they all agreed and Kay smiled and asked, “Where to then?” they were thinking when she remembered there was a waterfall just ahead past the next hill.
She smiled and said, “How about to the waterfall that’s near here.” Elliott was surprised she knew about the waterfall he was leading them to. Kyle asked, “There is a waterfall here? Where is it?” Elliott smiled a little and said, “Yeah there is one a little past that hill. That’s where we are headed. Though how did you know about it Kay?” She shrugged and said, “I did some exploring when I was a kid, I explored a lot of the three kingdoms before I decided to become a soldier. My parents weren’t happy about it when they found out I was running around the three kingdoms without an escort. They thought a lady should never travel alone especially when visiting other kingdoms. I never liked having escorts they tended to not allow me to do anything, afraid I would get hurt. I get where they’re coming from now, especially when I see Lucas and the girls without their escorts. So, I quit exploring for a while when I started to notice they were starting to follow in my footsteps.”
Kyle came up and asked, “Why would they follow in your footsteps? Lucas is older than you, right and I would think the girls would follow him more.” Kay laughed a little and said, “Despite him calling me little Kay I’m actually a little older than him, when we were younger, he liked to follow me around I never liked acting like a lady so I ran off a lot and hung out with the soldiers that’s where we learned to fight. Lucas was always better than me with a sword but I had him in a few other, categories. After we felt we could defend ourselves was about the time I started sneaking out of the kingdom. Lucas had caught me the last time and followed me, he ended up getting hurt because of that.
