This is a fantasy in which a woman becomes pregnant with a magical child. She and her husband try to protect the girl child from forces that would turn her towards dark magic. They, and the friends they find along the way, try to teach the baby and then the child, and help her find her way on a magical journey. As the child grows she and her friends fight powerful forces to rid the world of dark magic. They turn enemies into allies in the never-ending battle between the dark and the light.
